Compounds for boron neutron capture therapy

Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a new radiotherapy modality. It utilizes the property of the boron-10 nucleus to capture thermal neutrons and undergo nuclear fission. The fission particles are highly cell destructive. This paper focuses on the possibilities to accumulate, selectivity, boron in tumor cells through tailor-made tumor-seeking boron compounds for subsequent BNCT application.
