Synthesis and Structure of a HgCl2 Coordination Polymer With 1,4-Bis(benzimidazole-1-yl-methylene)benzene (bbmb)

摘要
In this study, solution reaction of mercury dichloride with organic multifunctional ligand 1,4-bis(benzimidazole-1-yl-methylene)benzene generated a 1D polymer [HgCl2 (bbmb)center dot 2H(2)O center dot CH3OH](n) 1, and the crystal structure has been determined (C46H60Cl4Hg2N8O10), Mr = 1428.00, a = 14.703(15) angstrom, b = 17.248(17) angstrom, c = 14.91(2) angstrom, beta= 114.869(10)degrees, space group C-2/c, Z = 2, and V = 3430(7) angstrom(3). In 1 the tetrahedral coordination of Hg(II) and the conformation of the bbmb ligand make it a wave-shaped structure.
