10Gbit/s eight-channel transmission experiment over 480 km with 120 km repeater spacing using orthogonal polarisation arrangement and bit-phase arranged RZ pulse format
The authors show the feasibility of a 10Gbit/s eight-channel multi-repeater transmission system using 1.55 mu m dispersion shifted fibres. Transmission over 480km with 120km long repeater spacings is achieved using an orthogonal polarisation arrangement and bit-phase arranged RZ pulse format.
