摘要：

Immanuel Kant, the founder of German transcendental philosophy, had suffered, since his fourties, from a migraine with aura with frequent headaches, described by Kant as "oppressions in the head", and visual aura symptoms including recurring scintillating scotomas, diplopia and complete amaurosis. Kant's migraine showed a marked exacerbation in his seventies, coinciding with the prodromic phase of his probable senile dementia of Alzheimer's type.
