摘要
Using microscopy techniques of femtosecond time-resolved optical polarigraphy and transient absorption, we have demonstrated reshaping of a filamented laser pulse propagating within the bulk of fused silica caused by expulsion of light from the plasma-occupied core area. Transformation of the axially symmetric pulse shape into an asymmetric double-bended structure was also found. Time- and space-resolved images of transient absorption tied to that of intensity distribution have been obtained. Based on the measured value of transient absorptance, it is concluded that the filament is refilled by energy flux from the reservoir.
