摘要
We describe our Monte Carlo approach to the modelling of an active zone of an exocytotic cell, in order to study Ca2+ and secretion dynamics. Following a microscopic point of view and the stochastic nature of cell events, we have modelled the main Ca2+-regulation processes associated with hormone and neurotransmitter release. Two specific examples are considered for simulation: a nerve terminal and a chromaffin cell, which account for fast and slow exocytosis, respectively.
