摘要
Grade IV patellar luxation is a relatively uncommon congenital problem in young large and giant breed dogs. More often, it is a distinct syndrome associated with severe limb deformities such as hip dysplasia and genu valgum. Depending on this deformities grade IV lateral patellar luxation were classified in grade IVa, IVb, IVc. Regarding to the previous cases reported, it carries a guarded prognosis after proper surgical procedures are performed. Earlier are the diagnosis and the surgical treatments, better are the functionnal results. Pathogenesis, treatment and prognosis are discussed.
