摘要
Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) as a biologically important reactive oxygen species (ROS) plays crucial roles in the physiological and pathological processes. It is thus meaningful to explore an effective method for detecting basal HOCl in living systems. We herein report a large Stokes shift (about 115 nm) fluorescent probe LSS-HA for highly specific and ultrasensitive detection of HOCl with excellent water-solubility. Probe LSS-HA exhibited a remarkable fluorescence enhancement ((similar to) 227-fold) due to the adoption of high-quantum-yield fluorophore in aqueous solution. Besides, probe LSS-HA showed ultrasensitivity (detection limit is 3.30 nM) and fast response ( < 5 s) for HOCl. Furthermore, probe LSS-HA was successfully applied for imaging basal HOCl in living cells and zebrafish.
