Wiki Based E-learning Platform for Academic Courses

The intrinsically passive nature of a generally accepted teaching process in nowadays higher education results in: 1) low motivation for learning, 2) unsatisfactory level of acquired knowledge, and 3) low outcomes particularly in natural sciences, mathematics and engineering. One of the most important challenges that educators face concerns how to raise academic motivation. The question is of crucial importance for academic success and directly affects level of interest of students. We adopted Wild based e-learning system as a major constituent of teaching and learning process with the goal to deliver sustainable productive learning atmosphere among students, active students' participation and to increase motivation for learning,. The aim of this paper is to present how we integrate Wiki oriented teaching and learning pedagogy with best practices of Wiki educational usage in a form of design patterns and to present benefits that are reflection of such integration. Based on usage of the Wiki based I: Learning Platform, we analyze the system acceptance, students' motivation to learn and final exams outcomes.
