CORTES - yielding line variety of winter oilseed rape

Line variety Cortes comes from breeding station in Chlumec Cidlinou. It has excellent overwintering ability, which was confirmed in the winter 2011/2012, when temperatures fell repeatedly far below the freezing-point (up to -24 degrees C) without snow cover. Typical are lower, richly branching plants, with very early start of flowering and longer flowering time. Cortes is one of the most powerful varieties, which exceeded the control line varieties from 100 to 106% throughout the state examinations. It has a high oil content of 46.7%, the minimum content of erucic acid and low glucosinolate content.
