摘要
Textile sector is blooming in Bangladesh; provides huge jobs and earns foreign currency. But dyes used in this sector are one of the most dangerous sources of environmental pollution. This study deals with the production of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) as an adsorbent and this adsorbent is applied for the removal of an industrially used synthetic dye TURQUOISE GN. Modified Hummers method was used for the production of graphene oxide (GO) from graphite powder and GO was reduced to RGO by hydrazine hydrate. The effect of pH, time and concentration on the adsorption capacity of RGO were studied. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models have been applied to find out the distribution of adsorbate molecules on the adsorbent surface and the Langmuir model was fitted well with the equilibrium data. Maximum sorption capacity was determined from Langmuir isotherm and it was 588.24 mg/g.
