摘要：
In this review, an attempt is made to bring together evidence from a wide range of sources to show that non-heme iron nitrosyls have biological properties that are defined by their chemical characteristics. The sources are from the chemical, biological, and, occasionally, medical literature. Mechanisms of action based on recent information on the biological role of NO are proposed.
