摘要：
Energetics and dynamics of spontaneous symmetry breaking in finite cluster systems are discussed for three illustrative cases; (1): a nanometer-scale liquid jet and its breakup into clusters (droplets), with a particular emphasis on the role of size-dependent fluctuations, (2) fission processes of charged metal clusters, and (3) formation of crystallized electron clusters (Wigner molecules) in two-dimensional quantum dots.
