摘要
User behavior has been paid lots of attention in the Information System (IS) research. Previous research on IS user behavior has focused on in-role behaviors such as IS adoption, initial usage and continuous usage, while paid little attention to extra-role behaviors such as organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB). However, with the application of information technology (IT) in organizations, the boundary of employees' task becomes ambiguous, and employees' OCB plays an important role in achieving performance. Therefore, it is important to empirically analyze the effects of user OCB on IS performance in the IS context. Based on the OCB theory, this paper analyzes the effects of user OCB on IS performance, proposes the research model, and conducts an empirical test. By using survey and conducting regression analysis with a sample of 141 IS users, the results show that four dimensions of OCB including optimization, active learning, conscientiousness and innovating have significant positive influence on IS performance, and therefore a preliminary model of IS users' OCB is built. This study extends the research on IS users' behavior, which may provide theoretical basis for future study on IS users' OCB and implications for IS management practice.
