摘要
Transparent crystals of K2Ba(NO3)(4) were obtained from water solution. The phase diagram of the Ba(NO3)(2)-KNO3-H2O system was constructed on the basis of experimental data, using X-ray phase analysis. For the first time the crystal structure of K2Ba(NO3)(4) was determined as tetragonal (I-42m) with unit cell parameters a = b = 8,3126(7) angstrom, c = 7,7711(6) angstrom, V = 536,988 angstrom(3). It was found that K2Ba(NO3)(4) is irreversibly decomposed into KNO3 and Ba(NO3)(2) with decomposition temperature 197.3 degrees C. K2Ba(NO3)(4) crystal is transparent in the range of 0.25-2.2 mu m, where an absorption peak with the maximum at 0.3 mu m is observed. The band gap is about 5 eV.
