ANALYSIS OF PYRETHROID PESTICIDES IN SOIL AND WATERS OF AGRICULTURAL AND URBAN AREAS OF YAQUI AND MAYO VALLEY

摘要
Globally, there has been a steep increase in the use of pyrethroid pesticides in the last decade; when they are used blended with organophosphates, pyrethroids become more potent, and their action and permanency in the environment is increased. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the presence of cyhalothrin, cyfluthrin, cypermethrin, fenvalerate and deltamethrin in water and soil from Yaqui and Mayo valleys in Sonora, Mexico. For the pyrethroids analysis the method of matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) was used for extraction, and gas chromatography with detecting of capture of electrons for the determination. There were 194 samples (123 of soil and 71 of water), of which 14 positive samples were found (11 of water and 3 of soil). The largest detected concentration was found in soil with 65.6 mu g/kg of cyhalothrin, while in water it was of 29.4 mu g/L of cypermethrin, both surpassing the limits previously reported by other studies.
