摘要
Biomaterials have saved or improved the life and its quality for millions around the Globe. Today, bioabsorbable metals are opening new horizons to medicine and clinics. In this study, two rolling routes, unidirectional (UR) and cross rolling (CR) were applied to induce different microstructural features on two Zn alloys: Zn-5.0Ag-0.5Mg (A-1) and Zn-10.0Ag-1.0 Mg (A-2). Results demonstrated that each thermomechanical processing induces different recrystallization mechanisms, impacting relevantly the alloy's mechanical behavior. Most importantly, it was experimentally evidenced that CR provides to the alloys a more isotropic microstructure. Consequently, both CR alloys exhibited homogeneous mechanical behavior when compared with the UR condition. (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
