EVALUATION OF PUPILS' KNOWLEDGE IN THE AREA OF HEALTHY EATING HABITS

摘要
The aim of this study is to evaluate the knowledge in the area of healthy eating habits and their possible impact within a group of pupils at elementary schools. The research instrument we used was a test that was created by a State pedagogical institute in Bratislava (Statny pedagogicky ustav). The findings were that orientation in the area of food was good, only a few pupils aswered the questions incorrectly. Questions that addressed some specific understanding in the area of digestion system and chemical composition of body represented some problems for the pupils. It was especially the matter of matching digestion organs with their functions. Good results were achieved in matching vitamins with the kinds of food that contain them. The correspondents also knew what the lack of vitamins in food is caused by. The most significant influence on the knowledge in these areas was age of correspondents; it was not gender or education.
