摘要
Sleep disorders are progressively common and sometimes are associated with aberrant regulation of the adaptive and innate immune responses. Sleep interruption can increase the inflammatory burden by enhancing the pro-inflammatory cytokines particularly in patients with chronic diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IBD is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by immune dysregulation, dysbiosis of gut microbiome, and poor-quality life. Therefore, this review highlights the crosstalk between sleep and immune responses during the progression of IBD. (C) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
