John J. Kelly, MD, is Chief of Staff/Patient Safety Officer at Abington Memorial Hospital (AMH) in Abington, Pennsylvania, which was the winner of the 2011 American Hospital Quest for Quality Prize. Dr. Kelly has been in numerous leadership positions in AMH and has championed their efforts in quality and safety. He received his MD from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his Fellowship in Infectious Diseases from Yale-New Haven School of Medicine.
