Formation and crystal structure of bis-(2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidino)diselane

摘要：
The reaction of N-lithioselenido-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine and trimethyltin chloride leads to the formation of hexamethyl-distannane and bis-(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-piperidino)diselane. This compound was identified by H-1 and C-13 NMR, by mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. The crystal structure was also determined showing a conformation differing from other dian-tinodiselanes due to the repulsion of the bulky 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-piperidino groups.
