摘要
A thermoplastic such as polypropylene reinforced with small quantities (< 5% by weight) of nano-sized particles could show reduced flammability as well as improved dielectric properties. This paper describes short-term dielectric properties of polypropylene containing 0%, 2%, and 4% by weight of dispersed organosilicates. Ac and dc breakdown strength, tan delta, electroluminescence emission, and space charge distribution due to ac poling of polypropylene with and without the nanoparticles are reported.
