Contribution of linear programming in cost management and productivity in a rural property

摘要
This study aims to assist the process of managing the rural properties, from the use of cost management and the mathematical tool of linear programming. To achieve this goal, the study was organized in two phases, with the first aim was to organize data and production costs of a period of twelve months at a farm producing grain to verify the contribution margin and profit achieved. The second step, in turn, was to develop mathematical models that optimize production and consequently maximize the contribution margin and profit using the available resources on the property. This research is classified as documentary, quantitative and case study. After the study we found that the linear programming tool can contribute efficiently in managing the property costs, and can increase their profitability by approximately 5.83%.
