摘要
This paper presents a development of power electronic control device so called Solid-State Circuit Breaker (SSCB) for protection system. This SSCB acts as switching device in order to "turn-on/turn-off' the circuit in low voltage distribution level. The protection system is separated into two parts that are switching circuit and real time fault detection circuit. The real time detection circuit can investigate five different cases as short circuit, overload, undervoltage, overvoltage and leakage current. The voltage and current signals investigated and compared between normal and abnormal situation by using microcontroller as system complies. During abnormal situation, the control device can send the signal to switching circuit in order to isolate the abnormal circuit and protect the system from severe damage. The results show that both control and switching circuits can detectfaults and protect the system according to the designed conditions.
