Materialities, Practices, Agency - A Relational Access to School-based Outdoor Learning in Elementary School

摘要
The present study examines the socio-material arrangement of lessons at extracurricular learning spaces in the model project outdoor school with regard to children's agency. Referring to approaches of practice theory and relational social theory, agency is reconstructed in the performative creation of a common context of action in roleplaying behind the scenes of lessons as well as in practices of subjectivization by the children, which both are particularly related to the material order of outdoor school space. The findings show agency as a promising approach for the analysis of educational arrangements in school.
