摘要
Simulation results reveal that bending sensitivity of LPFG-based bending sensor in ordinary single-clad optical fiber is almost 15nm/m(-1), while this quantity for LPFG-based bending sensor in double-clad W-type optical fiber reaches to 21nm/m(-1). This 40% enhancement of bending sensitivity is related to more difference between cladding modes' effective refractive indices in W-type optical fiber rather than ordinary single-clad optical fiber.
