摘要
The downer is being expected to provide uniform flow behaviour, due to the concurrent movement of gas and solids in the direction of gravity. In literature many studies show, that the gas/solids distributor on the top of a downer greatly influences the flow conditions. However, the influence of the distribution process depends on each distributor system individually. Therefore, the influence of mixing behaviour of gas and solids in the entrance section of the present downer reactor on the flow condition has been studied experimentally. The investigations show that solids feeding process and geometry of the entrance region crucially influence the solids distribution and may lead to a strong back mixing of solids. This influence has an effect on the overall behaviour of the downer. However, for different operating conditions the entire downer plant can be regarded as a plug flow similar system.
