Trends in the development, manufacture and applications of paste end liquid printing inks are reviewed. The factors influencing commercial and technical progress over the post fifty years are discussed. Some earlier research studies on the chemistry of polyunsaturated vegetable oils ore recoiled because of their continuing relevance to modern ink technology Advances in ink materials technology hove mode significant contributions to progress. Some of the author's experiences and recollections ore touched upon to illustrate outstanding problems and constraints as well as the progressive features.
