Application of jet grouting for retaining walls on deep excavations

This project consists of a multi-storey residential building development with 4-5.5 in of basement. It is located at Soi Romrudee, Bangkok. The application of jet grouting technique, as a soil stabilization method was applied instead of using sheet pile bracing system. Limited conditions such as the narrow access road and very small working areas also inhibit the installation of sheet pile walls. Jet grouted walls become a suitable choice under these conditions. Conventional methods are very time consuming, costly and may cause significant delay of the project. The advantage of using jet grouting walls as self-standing walls is a simple for excavation works because of no bracing and struts.
