A high efficiency third order Stokes Raman laser operating at 1500 nm based on a BaTeMo2O9 crystal

摘要
An efficient eye-safe laser source at 1500 nm based on a novel Raman crystal BaTeMo2O9 (BTM) is demonstrated for the first time. The laser source was generated with a third order Stokes shift at 921.3 cm(-1) pumped by a Nd:YAG laser. With a pump pulse energy of 60 mJ, a maximum output pulse energy of 11.86 mJ at 1500 nm is obtained, corresponding to an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 19.8%. It is believed that BTM crystal would be a promising material for high pulse energy eye-safe laser generation.
