Large angle-independent structural colors based on all-dielectric random metasurfaces

摘要
In this work, we report large angle-independent transmission colors generated by all-dielectric random metasurfaces. The results are based on an analytical model available since few years called Coherent Scattering Model. The geometry studied consist in a random monolayer of polydisperse silicon nanoparticles supported onto a glass substrate. The generated colors reveal a large viewing angle and different colors are obtained by varying the radii of spheres. As a proof of concept, we show that it is possible to generate a palette of colors with a combination of nanospheres with different radii and surface coverages. In this regard, we present a glimpse for a potential application that can be useful to design metasurfaces that display from warm to cold whites, as the typically emitted by light bulbs. The proposed metasurfaces are suitable for fabrication, hence experimental validation of the theoretical predictions is feasible.
