摘要
PbTe nanocomposites have been prepared from PbTe nanocrystals, synthesized via chemical route, by compaction under high pressure and temperature. The thermoelectric (TE) properties are found to vary with the shape and size of the composites' nanostructures. Transport properties of PbTe nanocomposites have been evaluated through temperature dependent electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient and room temperature thermal conductivity measurements. A remarkable enhancement in power factor and reduction in thermal conductivity compared to bulk polycrystalline PbTe have been observed. The highest power factor of the specimen is found to be 18.72 x 10(-4) Wm(-1)K(-2) with a room temperature thermal conductivity of 1.69 Wm(-1)K(-1).
