摘要
Biological control of soil borne diseases by using microbial pesticides that suppress plant pathogens is an attractive tool for horti- and agriculture. Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici (Jarvis and Shoemaker) and Pythium ultimum (Trow.) occurs frequently in greenhouse conditions (mainly at 25-27 degrees C and 80-100% soil humidity) affecting tomato seedlings and causing foot and root rot. Biocontrol of phytopathogenic fungi by Bacillus subtilis (Ehrenberg) Cohn is accomplished by antibiosis, induced systemic resistance, competition for nutrients and niches or plant growth promotion. In this study, five Bacillus subtilis strains, Bs57, Bs45, Bs30, BsA1 and Bs98, were selected for antagonistic activity against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici and Pythium ultimum in vitro and analyzed for their biocontrol ability in vivo in greenhouse conditions. The results showed that the highest efficacy, equal with the chemical control, thiram 70% (4 g/kg), was conferred by strains Bs30 against P. ultimum (83%) and Bs98 against F. oxysporum (88%). These two strains significantly reduced the disease symptoms and also promoted the growth of the tomato plants.
