摘要：
A newly recovered manuscript contains Turgot's calculations of the harmful effects of indirect taxes in comparison to the imposition of a direct tax on the freely disposable incomes of landowners. It shows an unexpected side of Turgot, who was thought to have been reluctant to apply mathematics to economic reasoning. His assumptions and mathematical method are explained and compared to Quesnay's notion ofrepompementand Du Pont'sCourbes politiques.
