摘要
The results of investigations on deteriorations of existing concrete structures all over Japan were presented. An accident that occurred in a tunnel lining concrete was the starting point. Measures to make structures durable were proposed based on the results. These measures are also presented in this paper. At that time Japan Society of Civil Engineers published a performance based construction specification. The specification is an initiative work to specify the methods to achieve structures with desired performances with not only safety and serviceability but also durability. The main part of the Specification is the method to investigate durability of structures. Introduction of this specification is also the objective of this paper.
