Detailed investigation of a high-efficiency Ho:YLF laser pumped by a Tm:YAP laser

摘要
A detailed study of a Ho: YLF laser pumped by a Tm: YAP laser is reported. Up to 9.9 W of laser output at 2065.31 nm is obtained under the incident pumped power of 20.8 W, corresponding to an optical-to-optical conversion efficiency of 52.8% in the continuous wave mode. In Q-switched mode, with the acousto-optic Q-switch, a maximum energy per pulse of 0.68 mJ at 10 kHz and a minimum pulse width of 175 ns was obtained, corresponding to a peak power of approximately 3.9 kW.
