摘要
The formulation for near field scattering by closely spaced parallel infinite circular cylinders in an absorbing medium is presented in this paper. The scattering formalism accounts for the absorption by the host medium and dependent scattering between the closely spaced cylinders. The Poynting vector of the scattered radiation in the near field is derived for a source wave of arbitrary polarization at normal incidence on the cylinders. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the spatial variation of the scattered radiation in the near and far fields for two configurations of cylinders in an absorbing medium.
