摘要
The effect of beat noise on optical code-division multiple-access (OCDMA) systems using a range of two-dimensional (2-D) time-spreading/wavelength-hopping (TW) code families is presented. A derivation of a general formula for the error probability of the system is given. The properties of the 2-D codes-namely, the structure, length, and cross-correlation characteristics-are found to have a great influence on system performance. Improved performance can be obtained by use of real-time dynamic thresholding. (c) 2005 Optical Society of America.
