摘要
The shape of two-phase liquid drops has been investigated under conditions where perfect wetting of the less dense liquid by the denser liquid prevails. Experiments have been performed in the Ga-Pb system at 600 K. Laplace's equation was used to determine the surface energies of the coexisting Ga-rich and Pb-rich liquids. These energies were then employed to calculate the shape of the internal liquid-liquid interface. Numerical solutions, and finite element solutions obtained by means of the Surface Evolver program, are shown to be consistent. (C) 1999 Acta Metallurgica Inc. Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
