摘要
Recent progress in boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) synthesis has opened new possibilities for utilization of the attractive combination of the excellent mechanical characteristics and superb thermal and chemical stabilities of BNNTs for the creation of new structural and functional reinforced materials. In this work we have applied metal ion implantation to prepare novel BNNT/metal matrix composites. The resulting structures have been thoroughly studied by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. (C) 2012 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
