摘要：

Magnetic resonance imaging is commonly requested to establish an early diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. The sensitivity of MRI in detecting bone erosions and synovitis is greater than the other X ray methods. Early diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis is helpful to optimize treatment; furthermore MRI gives a precise evaluation of the disease by quantifying the level of the synovitis. As a result MRI is becoming an important technique for determining the prognosis of this kind of disease.
