Thermodynamics of the process of dissolution of impurity atoms in a system of quantum dots is analyzed based on minimization of the Gibbs free energy. Criteria for the effective introduction of single impurity atoms into quantum dots are formulated. (C) 2004 MAIK "Nauka / Interperiodica".
