摘要
We settle in the affirmative a question of Bhatia and Kittaneh. For P and Q positive semidefinite n x n matrices, the inequality root sigma(r)(PQ) <= 1/2 lambda(r)(P + Q) holds for r = 1, 2,..., n. (C) 2012 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
