摘要
Effective interventions in rehabilitation in long-term care require an understanding of the two most common psychopathologies in the residents of long-term care facilities: depression and dementia. This article will review assessment and treatment of persons with depression in long-term care. interventions with persons with dementia require knowledge of predictors of falls risk, motor performance measures, assessment of pain, and control of problem behaviors. Modifications of the environment and communication can help to maximize function and independence.
