Quarkonia studies in Pb plus Pb collisions by the ATLAS experiment at LHC

摘要：
The measurement of quarkonia production in heavy-ion collisions provides a powerful tool for studying the properties of hot and dense matter created in such collisions. We study the possibility of measuring Gamma and J/psi quarkonia families via di-muon decays in heavy-ion collisions with the ATLAS detector at LHC. We present the simulation results for expected reconstruction efficiency, mass resolution, rates and background estimates for Gamma and J/psi states in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC.
