摘要
Lablab purpureus, is an important crop plant, screened for drought tolerance under water stress on the basis of activities of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase. It was observed that the WS4 - 20% and WS3 - 40% were drought tolerant as compared to other treatments and control plants. Among the various treatments, WS2 - 60% and WS1 - 80% were found to be susceptible to water stress at reproductive stage. This study indicated that enzymes like peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase may serve as the indicators of water stress.
