摘要
Electron interaction with sulfoxide in both condensed and gaseous phases was studied using mass spectrometry of negative ions of resonance electron capture. Sulfoxide and dimethylsulfone molecules under low temperature radiolysis showed three basic regions of the resonance electron capture. The resonances of dissociative electron capture (d.e.c.) exhibiting broken C-S bonds, RSO- ions and alkyl radicals were observed to occur upon radiolysis of the compounds. The anion-radical pairs were stabilized at low temperatures in the crystalline lattice of sulfoxides and the radical resulting from hydrogen detachment was formed by hydrogen atom abstraction from a sulfoxide molecule by alkyl radical generated upon d.e.c.
