Superconductivity and magnetism in Dy1-xLuxNi2B2C compounds

We have measured the temperature dependencies of the electrical resistivity, magnetization, and specific heat of Dyl-xLuxNi2B2C compounds and determined the superconducting and antiferromagnetic transition temperatures for the samples of x = 0.0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.25, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0. The magnetic entropies were found to vary almost monotonically against x. The effective magnetic moments decreased with increasing x up to x = 0.7. For the sample of x = 0.4, both T-c and T-N were observed at about 6 K. The superconductivity was not found for the sample of x = 0.2 above 2 K.
