摘要
Ultrasonic and viscometric studies have been undertaken to investigate the compatibility of polymer blends. For this purpose, solutions of blends of poly (vinyl alcohol) and poly (ethylene oxide) have been prepared over a wide range of concentrations at 303 K, 313 K and 323 K in dimethyl formamide. The variation of viscosity, velocity and adiabatic compressibility of the composite is found to be linear indicating the degree of compatibility of polymer blend at all concentrations and temperatures. The correlation between excess adiabatic compressibility and interaction parameter with the compatibility is also determined for the first time.
