摘要
In this paper it is shown that straw could also be used as building material in Croatia, since less energy and material consumption, use of renewable resources and ecological materials, reduction of costs of living as well as social aspects such as promoting quality of living, is promoted by buildings made of straw. Resources of straw are shown, respectively surface and production of wheat in Croatia as well as effects, such as increasing energy efficiency and effect on emission of greenhouse gasses. It is shown that straw has a high insulation level, there conductivity tests are shown, coefficient of thermal conductivity,, noise protection and fire risks. Straw buildings also provide conditions for health leaving, which is a very important aspect. Special attention was given to static strength of straw as a building material.
